Sometimes it’s too hard to choose who to include in such a special moment, or maybe you want to avoid drama or keep things secret for the time being. Trust me, I get it.

Generally, an elopement doesn’t require a rehearsal. I bring a smaller sound system (for music, if you want it) and the ceremony I write for you is a surprise on the day for maximum “aww” factor.

There’s a good reason - we all offer different things. There is no right or wrong, it’s about finding the right balance for you. Some celebrants at the luxury end of the market offer some thoughtful extras, like a custom CD of ceremony music or keepsake vow cards by expert calligraphers. On the more budget friendly side, celebrants may perform a number of ceremonies in a row, or ask you to choose from a handful pre-written ceremonies and slot your names in as appropriate.

No, not necessarily. As long as you, your celebrant and the two legal witnesses can hear the ceremony, especially your legal vows, then the requirements have been met under the Marriage Act 1961. If you’re nervous about speaking into a microphone, but still want all of your guests to hear you, there are lots of things I can do to reduce your anxiety on the day.

For sure! I have a range of top quality sound gear I use to make sure your ceremony can be heard by everyone who needs to hear it. Brands include MiPro, RODE, Bose, Shure, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica and Micker, with wired and battery-operated wireless options.

For a full service wedding, I find the sweet spot is around 20 minutes. Less than that, and it can sometimes feel a bit rushed, while anything beyond 30 minutes may start to feel a bit drawn out. There’s no right or wrong, and I’ll happily work in with what you need. Elopements and legals only registry style weddings are even shorter, and the price reflects that
