What happens in case of an emergency and you can’t make it on the day?

I get asked this question a lot, and it’s a good one. As part of my process, I usually create backup documents that I can pass on to another authorised celebrant in case of emergency.

As a member of both The Celebrant Society and the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants, I have an excellent network of local celebrants I can call on if I need help.

It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s comforting to know there’s a plan!

Candice Bydder

Having worked for 10 years as a journalist working in TV, radio, print and public relations across Western Australia, I’ve developed a knack for telling a good story. Love stories are among the happiest and most uplifting stories, so a career as a marriage celebrant was a natural fit. My expertise in video and audio broadcasting is an added bonus, meaning you’ll be heard when it matters most.
