Sweet Busselton elopement puts Cystic Fibrosis in focus

A bride and groom smile at each other during their wedding ceremony, held on the Busselton foreshore.

When Cat first slid into my Facebook messages, enquiring about one of my wedding fundraisers, she had one simple request - could I donate my fee for her wedding to Cystic Fibrosis WA instead?

For bride Cat, groom Bryan and their family, it’s an organisation they’re well acquainted with. Cat and Bryan’s niece Emily, lives with Cystic Fibrosis.

The bride, in a white lace gown, speaks her wedding vows into a microphone during an elopement in Busselton.

“Emily came up to me straight away and gave me the biggest hug when she heard you confirm it to everyone,” Cat said.

For the ceremony itself, Bryan and Cat chose to keep it simple and meaningful. The natural beauty of the Busselton Foreshore meant that no styling or decor was needed.

“You gave us the wedding of our dreams in a place we love. It’s so perfect it’s hard to comprehend - the cause is so close to my heart that to link it to my wedding day is incredible,” the bride said.

Thank you to Cystic Fibrosis WA for sharing an article on its website!
