Rounding out 2020 with my 300th wedding!

Wow… what a year 2020 was! COVID-19 flipped the world on its head and obliterated wedding plans for countless couples. Fortunately, here in Western Australia, our relative isolation saved us from some of the most devastating impacts of the pandemic… but it was a challenge nonetheless.

For me, there were some incredible highlights. Shortly after the turn of the new decade, we completed our family and welcomed our healthy baby girl. Within days, I was up-and-at-’em again celebrating love and hitching couples with the support of my wonderful husband Cal, who has been marvellous co-parent juggling a toddler and a new bub as I do my thing.

Even with all the cancellations and postponements, 76 amazing couples trusted me to marry them in 2020. Jackie and Ben just scraped in, holding their tiny ceremony at sunset on 31 December up on Shorehaven Beach in Alkimos, north of Perth.

It’s a ceremony that will stay with me always, not only because the beach was virtually empty, the weather picture-perfect and the ocean completely serene… but because it was my 300th wedding ceremony!

Thank you to every single couple who has allowed me to marry them since I was appointed in mid-2016. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that my little business would take off in the way it has, and bring me so much joy and happiness. It has truly been my pleasure, and I’m looking ahead to 2021 with so much excitement!
