5 Questions with… Kat from Red Eclectic

Western Australia is brimming with talented creatives who are thrilled to make wedding dreams come true. From time to time, I’ll profile a few of my favourite people to work with.

When it comes to elopements, Kat from Red Eclectic is a specialist. She has a knack for capturing candid moments through her lens - genuine laughs, the biggest smiles, the warmest hugs. Kat is also passionate about eco-conscious, ethical, sustainable weddings and will happily recommend like-minded suppliers!

What three words would you use to describe your photography style?
Storytelling, chilled vibes, fun.

What's the best compliment you've ever received when it comes to your wedding work?
“In the words of Tina Turner... she's simply the best!” LOL! Direct quote from a client. But seriously, my favourite feedback is when clients tell me they were worried about their portrait session because they usually hate photos, but that they ended up having so much fun and love the photos!

Describe your ideal wedding couple to work with.
Chilled folks who just want to be married to their favourite person, have some fun and don’t care about the fussy stuff - they end up having the best time!

Is there anything on your wedding bucket list?
I’d love to shoot an elopement at Faversham House in York, it’s such a gorgeous location and only 1.5 hours from Perth!

What's your favourite location in WA to shoot a wedding or elopement?
Just out and about in nature, either in the bush or at the beach!

Candice Bydder

Having worked for 10 years as a journalist working in TV, radio, print and public relations across Western Australia, I’ve developed a knack for telling a good story. Love stories are among the happiest and most uplifting stories, so a career as a marriage celebrant was a natural fit. My expertise in video and audio broadcasting is an added bonus, meaning you’ll be heard when it matters most.
